Day 1 Welcome to PortugalArrival to Porto.
In the late afternoon, you will enjoy a food tour with a local guide. Like taking a walk with a friend, your tour guide will introduce you to 6 unique tasting locations. At each tasting location, you will taste an important element of the cuisine of Porto and the North of Portugal.
This morning, you will head out to start a private half-day excursion in Porto. This excursion will lead you through the most important landmarks of Portugal’s second most populous city, on a comfortable an exclusive vehicle. Settled by Romans, this is an emblematic city known for its delicious Port Wine, medieval townhouses stack up beside the beautiful Douro River and churches wearing their blue-and-white “azulejo” tiles.
Day 3Explore Porto or Day Trip from Porto
Explore Porto on your own or opt for a day trip (not included in the price) to Douro Val, Unesco World Heritage Landscape area and the oldest officially recognised wine region in the world; trek through Peneda-Gerês National Park; visit the historical city of Braga or Aveiro also called the “Venice of Portugal”; or explore Viana do Castelo, it is isted as one of the more visually appealing cities in Portugal, it is home to both a medieval center and beautiful beaches.
Day 4Porto to Lisbon (stop in Coimbra)
Time to go to Lisbon but first visiting Coimbra, the medieval capital of Portugal for over a hundred years, and site of the country’s greatest university for the past five centuries. Its atmospheric, beautiful historic core cascades down a hillside in a lovely setting on the east bank of the Rio Mondego: it’s a multicolored collage of buildings spanning nearly a millennium. After lunch, you’ll continue to Lisbon where you will dine at one of the best Fado restaurants.
Day 5Get to Know Lisbon
This morning, you will discover Lisbon in an exclusive private city tour. From Belem Tower, Alfama district to the famous Liberdade Avenue.
Day 6Day trip to Sintra, Cabo da Roca and Cascais
Discover why Sintra is one of the most romantic villages in the World and why is considered as Unesco World Heritage since 1995 and also to visit Cascais, old fisherman village, with amazing beaches and coast, passing Cabo da Roca, The Western Most Point of Europe, once called “The End of the World”. You will then be able to visit Cascais Bay. The tour will end with a visit to Estoril, where 007 James Bond was born, extremely famous during World War II, where German and allied spies were settled.
