Terms and Conditions
Published trip prices of Espíritu Travel are based on land only and do not include international flights. Land-only package prices that include domestic flights are not guaranteed until receipt of a 20% deposit + the cost of the domestic flights. Printed prices are subject to change without notice.
Quotes for custom and/or private trips
We reserve the right to correct the quote price if there is a significant error in the pricing. Quote prices are not guaranteed until deposit.
Booking & payments
The traveler has agreed to pay the applicable tour price in consideration of Espíritu Travel providing the traveler with the selected tour, inclusive of accommodations as well as those services described in the itinerary. A 20% deposit + the cost of the flight prices are due at the time of booking. The remainder of the trip fee is due 45 calendar days prior to the date that the participant is scheduled to arrive in country. If payment in full for trip is not received on or before the due date, the participant’s trip may be cancelled.
Cancellations & Refunds
If the participant cancels for any reason, he or she must notify Espíritu Travel in writing. The cancellation will be effective upon the receipt of the written notification via email at info@espíritutravel.com. Espíritu Travel incurs substantial administrative and planning costs prior to the departure of a tour. Therefore, regrettably, if a participant cancels his or her participation in the tour, the following cancelation policy applies.
All deposits are non-refundable. If a participant cancels 60 days or more before the tour start date, the participant may apply this deposit to another Espíritu Travel tour to be scheduled to depart within 1 year of the original scheduled start date, subject to space availability. The deposit cannot be applied to another Espíritu Travel tour if cancellation is received 59 days or less before the tour start date. The payments for domestic flights will be refunded if available from the airline but is not guaranteed.
45-31 days or more prior to the scheduled start date; the deposit paid by participants is forfeited.
30 or fewer days prior to the scheduled start date, no part of the total paid including the deposit will be refunded.
No refunds will be made for unused portions of the tour for any reason.
Participants are responsible for transportation costs to/from the destination country. The participant is responsible for any airfare or other travel fees, charges, expenses or penalties that might result from any cancellation of or change in the participant’s tour, whether the participant cancels the tour or it is cancelled or altered by Espíritu Travel.
It is very important that participants understand the cancellation policy. If it is not clear, the participant should ask for clarification. Espíritu Travel cannot make exceptions to this cancellation policy for any reason.
Travel insurance is highly recommended for all participants on our tours. Participants can purchase travel insurance via our link with World Nomad or through their own travel insurance provider. Travel insurance would provide both medical and trip cancellation insurance.
Changes to booking
Changes to the type of tour or start date by participants is considered a cancellation and are subject to the cancellation and refund policy found herein.
Passports & visas
The participant is required to have a passport valid for six months after the return from their trip (a rule set by the airlines). Participants holding a passport from a foreign country; green card, U.S. visa, or special-use passport are solely responsible for understanding the limitations imposed on their passport, green card, U.S. visa, or special-use passport regarding re-entry back into the United States. Espíritu Travel cannot be held liable for participants who are refused service by the airline or entry into country because of a restricted U.S. visa or passport or denial of a visa by the host government. In the event the participants are refused entry because of passport issues applicable cancellation penalties may apply.
Participants are responsible for having on his or her person proper documentation to enter the country that they are visiting as well as to re-entry to the United States, and proper documentation to travel via a third country (if applicable).
We will advise if there are visa requirements for US passport holders only. Those that hold a passport from another country, must check if a visa is required of entry into the country they will be visiting.
Changes to tours
We try to operate the tour as outlined itinerary. However, circumstances beyond our control may require an adjustment. We strive to avoid such changes, but must reserve the right to make such modifications if deemed necessary by the tour leader. If a participant cancels an activity while on tour because he or she doesn’t wish to participant, no refunds will be given.
Changes to the website
We reserve the right to change pricing and/or itineraries when necessary.
Travelers requiring special assistance
Participants must report any disability requiring special attention at the time of booking and Espíritu Travel will make reasonable attempts to accommodate it but does not guarantee it and is not responsible for any denial of service by the airline companies, domestic carriers, hotels, and other independent suppliers. Espíritu Travel regrets that it cannot provide individual assistance to participants for walking, dining, getting in or out of cars or other transportation vehicles or assist with other personal needs. Participants who need such assistance must be accompanied by a qualified companion who is also a participant on the tour.
Due to the educational and cultural nature of people-to-people tours, Travelers should be at least 12 years-old. Exceptions will be considered for family groups who book an entire departure date or who are doing private tour.
